An unlikely favorite...
This poem seems to be enjoyed by almost everyone who reads or hears it. Why? Its curious and amusing character I assume.
When the flies come around,
Swat them, splat them, smash them;

Philosophies on Solitude, Dilemmas, and Mercy
I
Solitude is my refuge; only then will I truly understand patience, love, wisdom, and hope. In this I have time to think, to reason out my problems. Remember: think not of the problem but of the solution, yet do not repeat your mistakes. Do not be the first to speak; listen, and then say your mind. When someone is talking to you, listen; because that is what defines you as friend.

In order to succeed in any dilemma or just life in general, you must look at the Whole. One must take every side, angle, and point of the problem, but do not forget to focus your senses on not just the problem but everything, all that is around you, the Whole.

To be merciful is to be in the right. It is to be like Christ and that is most definitely a good thing - Christian or not. Forgiveness is probably one of the most valuable gifts in life...and yet sometimes one of the most unused. Forgiveness is not earned; it is granted or received. It is every man's right to forgive; it his his choice and the guilt can be even more for him if he does not forgive than for the man he need forgive. As the Lord says, "Harden not your hearts" so let us be merciful and gentle souls. When someone does you wrong, put your anger and your hurt aside and forgive him. It takes a man to grant forgiveness and the same goes for he who receives it. Christ said to forgive and He did; and if He is not a true man then I don't know who is.
